The Host City Agreement for the 2027 European Games was signed on Friday, February 28, during the 54th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in Frankfurt. With the signing of this agreement, it has been officially confirmed that the 2027 European Games will be held in Istanbul.
The signing ceremony was attended by EOC President Spyros Capralos, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Fatih Uysal, Head of the International Organizations Department Necati Kaplan, Turkish National Olympic Committee (TMOK) President Prof. Dr. Uğur Erdener, Vice President and EOC Board Member Hasan Arat, and General Secretary Neşe Gündoğan. All stakeholders emphasized their determination to organize a world-class event that will elevate the European Games to a higher level.
