Many years ago Hisaronu was simple farmland with a few farmhouses dotted about. When tourism grew in Oludeniz, Hisaronu was the nearest place to build hotels to cope with the number of tourists that Oludeniz attracted. Today even though Hisaronu has no beach, it has become a resort in its own right.
Monday is market day, with stalls selling fresh locally grown fruit, vegetables and olives. Or why not try some of the local cheeses and honey, or just stock up on spices. There are also many clothing stalls etc. Don’t forget to barter for the best price, it really is expected and great fun.
