Turkish Cuisine is world-renowned for the large spectrum of varieties and the unparalleled taste it offers. Most foreigners visiting Turkey say they cannot overcome the flavor of Turkish food when they go back to their countries.

With this in mind, the official tourism authorities make organizations abroad to promote Turkish cuisine globally to contribute to promotion of Turkey, as well. This year the Turkish Embassy in Kuala Lumpur in joint operation with Yunus Emre Institute Center in Kuala Lumpur and Turkish Airlines together with a local business selling Turkish products in the city organized the fourth Turkish Food Week event between 14 and 19 March 2019. The event was held in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

The organization attended by Merve Safa KAVAKCI, Turkey's Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur and many more ambassadors from other countries started with Sufi music and whirling dervish show.

Following the show, the visitors examined the Ebru (A traditional Turkish art) stand established at the event area and voiced their admiration. Thereafter they tried Turkish dishes at the opening dinner.

The chefs responsible for the food at the event stated that they tried to exhibit many dishes available in the Turkish cuisine on the occasion.

The chief cook also said “We want to realize same sort of activities in other countries as well. We have been introducing our food to the Malay people in Malaysia for the last four years and we have received very positive responses.
