A short driving distance away from the beautiful harbour town of Fethiye, lies the sleepy farming village of Uzumlu. Nestled in the hillside above Fethiye, Uzumlu is still a traditional village, with locals producing many kilos of fresh fruit and vegetables for sale on the local markets in the area.
Every April the village holds a three-day Mushroom festival, and locals flock to the village to savour the locally found 'Kuzugöbeği mantar' which is a rare mushroom. There is always live music and folk dancing too, and outdoor stalls selling Gozleme, a Turkish savoury stuffed pancake.
