NEWS Gayrettepe-Kagithane Metro Line in Istanbul to be opened by President Erdogan

Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the opening of the 'Gayrettepe-Kağıthane Metro Line', the final link of the 'Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport Metro Line', would be realized with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Monday, January 29th.

In a written statement, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu declared the completion of the works on the Istanbul 'Gayrettepe-Kağıthane Metro Line'. Uraloğlu said, "We have completed the works on the 'Gayrettepe-Kağıthane' section, the final link of our country's fastest metro, the 'Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport Metro Line', which is a project with many 'firsts' and 'mosts'. On Monday, January 29th, we will open our line to the service of the people of Istanbul with the participation of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan."

'KAĞITHANE-GAYRETTEPE' SECTION EXTENDS THE LINE LENGTH TO 37.5 KILOMETERS

Uraloğlu stated that the 9th and final station of the Gayrettepe-Kağıthane Metro Line is the 'Kağıthane-Gayrettepe section' and said, "With the completed works on the 3.5-kilometre 'Gayrettepe-Kağıthane' section of the Gayrettepe-Kağıthane Metro Line, our total line length has increased to 37.5 kilometres."

JOURNEY TIME BETWEEN TAKSIM AND ISTANBUL AIRPORT TO BE 41 MINUTES

Uraloğlu mentioned that with the completed project; the travel time between 'Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport' will be 30 minutes, between Göktürk-Mahmutbey will be 38 minutes, between Tekstilkent-Istanbul Airport will be 45 minutes, between Taksim-Istanbul Airport will be 41 minutes, between Taksim-Göktürk will be 26 minutes, and between 4th Levent-Istanbul Airport will be 35 minutes.
